One of the benefits for baseball players includes increased control and explosiveness of the hips and core leading to faster direction changes, quicker running and more powerful hitting and throwing. Every exercise learned trains the core.
Another main benefit of Greg’s program is increased gripping ability. This often overlooked aspect of training is extremely important considering the hand’s role in catching, throwing, hitting and shoulder stabilization. There are infinite other benefits that are not to be overlooked, especially when dealing with individual clients and unique needs. However, one major benefit that seems to be praised universally is the overall coordination and body unity developed through Greg’s training.
Most clients across the board, in the United States particularly, seem to be creating amateur programs based on body building theory. Although there is nothing wrong with body building, most baseball players should not be training like body builders. This isolation training leads to muscle imbalances and tightness leading to injuries and encouraging athletes to “fight themselves” as they attempt to improve their sport specific skills. Learning to use the entire body properly for every action will bring simultaneous safety and power to the client.
